Thank You, Day of Great Thanksgiving Volunteers
Under sunny skies on Saturday, November 17, 2018, Old Savannah City Mission celebrated its 21st Annual Day of
Great Thanksgiving. The annual event is intended to offer our praise and thanks for all the blessings that God has
bestowed on us during the year. The day started with praise music from the Isle of Hope United Methodist church
praise band, students from Mercer University Medical School provided health screenings for diabetes and
hypertension to those in attendance, and students from the mission’s Urban Training Institute provided jackets,
coats, and shoes to those in need. The mission's Chaplain delivered an inspiring Thanksgiving message.
Thanks to all of our volunteers, those that prayed for the mission, prepared the sides, wrapped cutlery, prepped,
smoked and pulled turkey meat, and those who served Saturday. Because of this outpouring support we were able
to feed 290 people during the day. We hope that everyone will continue to pray for the mission, support the mission
financially, and join us in 2019 for our 22nd Annual Day of Great Thanksgiving.
