The Thrift Shop is named in honor of two outstanding women in the
Bible. Dorcas was a seamstress, a woman full of good works and did
many charitable deeds for the poor and who Peter restored to life.
Esther was a beautiful Jewish woman. After the loss of her parents
she found protection and purpose under her Uncle Mordecai’s care.
In time, God brought her into a special role to deliver her people as
Queen Esther of the Persian Empire.
